Joyride (Live), 2025

Joyride is a 2025 art installation by Temporary Pleasure in the Barbican Centre's Car Park 5, transforming four salvaged, modified cars into a sound-system sculpture and dancefloor. It ran as part of the Feel the Sound exhibition, it explores Y2K "boy racer" culture, DIY rave, and queer subculture through immersive, site-specific design. Produced by Good times collective.

Joyride (Live), 2025

Installation / performance. 4-channel sound system built from 4 modified cars with live choreography, sound, and crews.

Mixing elements of acid house rave convoy, car meet, dance battle, ball & MTV Grind. Each car is paired with a crew and the cars act as stage and speaker. DJs play through all 4 cars, moving between genres: hardcore, ballroom, funk, and softer feminine beats, as crews answer with choreography, battles, and cyphers, turning the car park into a car meet dance clash.
